Marin Co. Deed Book G, pages 241-243: 20 April 1869.
Peter R. Ansling, Sheriff of Marin Co. to Vincent Wagner...decree made and entered in the District court of the 7th Judicial District...on 10 July 1868 in a certain action then pending in said Court wherein John Lucas administrator of the estate of Timothy Murphy deceased was Plaintiff and Alexander Forbes, Philip De Fries, Amanda De Fries, John De Fries and Elizabeth De Fries and others were defendants. It was among other things ordered, adjudged and decreed that all and singular the mortgaged premises described in the Complaint in said action...should be sold at public auction by the sheriff....said sheriff did.....sell.....to the said Vincent Wagner.... for the sum of $294....whereas more than 6 months has elapsed since the date of the said sale and no redemption has been made of the premises so sold as aforesaid by or on behalf of the said judgement debtors, the said Philip De Fries, Amanda De Fries, John De Fries and Elizabeth De Fries or by or on behalf of any other person
Now this indenture witnesseth that the said party of the first part the said Sheriff in order to carry in effect the sale so made by him as aforesaid in pursuance to said judgement or decree......land.....in County of Marin.....being parcel of the Rancho San Pedro, Santa Margaretta y las Gallinas and claimed by the children and heirs of John De Freis and Elizabeth De Fries, his wife, viz: John De Fries, Philip De Fries, Amanda De Fries, Elizabeth De Fries, Charles De Fries and Emily De Fries, and described as follows: beginning at a point where a line drawn North 34 degrees East from the round or red hill crosses the exterior boundary line of the Rancho San Pedro Santa Margaretta y Gallinas, said point of crossing being north 20.5 degrees west 24 chains from Station 30 of the official and final survey of said Rancho thence......containing an area of 81.78 acres....
