E. E. Deming Funeral Held in Mill Valley
Funeral services for Edwin Eli Deming, 80, a resident of the state for 36 years, were held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in t he Robert F. Russell chapel in Mill Valley.
Deming passed away Saturday in a local hospital from injuries received in a fall from a porch railing last week.
Born in Watertown, New York, in 1856, Deming spent his early manhood in Michigan, where he started to train as doctor. However, failing eyesight and ill health prevented this and he later became a teacher.
Following a short residence in Oregon, Deming came to California where he had lived in Berkeley, Napa, Healdsburg and for the past twelve years in Mill Valley. He had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Henry S. Foster, Hillside avenue, Mill Valley, prominent club woman, for the past two yeas.
His wife, the late Jennie Smith Deming, died 12 years ago.
Interment was in Beason Cemetery, Healdsburg.
