Margaret Joan (Margie) Lytle
Margie Lytle passed away on February 8, 2002, following a short illness. The cause was cancer. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1934 and attended school there until her family moved to Los Angeles. She later moved to the San Francisco area, and attended UC Berkeley.
Margie had a long career with Radio Station KSFO in the glory days when Don Sherwood and Jack Carney were the resident legends. She enjoyed working with these characters, and even wound up as the sister in law of Jack Carney.
She had a second career with Marin General Hospital, where she was a Nurse Scheduler, and completed a 22-year stint there when she retired in 1996. The past few years have taken her to many worldwide sites, including Italy, Prague, France, Ireland, Tahiti and New England. On a recent trip to Ireland, she was able to visit the village where her grandfather lived before immigrating to the U.S.
Her husband, David Lytle; a stepson Douglas Lytle of Prague, the Czech Republic; two step-grandchildren; a niece, Catherine Browning of Kuwait; and nephew, John Carney of St. Louis, survive her.
At her request her remains will be scattered at Sea. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
