Lew Shee Wong
A funeral for Lew Shee Wong, a longtime San Rafael businesswoman who died Wednesday at the Rafael Convalescent Hospital in San Rafael, will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Green Street Mortuary in San Francisco.
Mrs. Wong, who was 77, ran the Wing Sing Laundry, which did business on Lootens Place for more than 60 years. The business was later condemned by the city for a city parking lot.
She was born in Canton, China, and emigrated in the 1930s. She was married to Tim Wong, who died in 1948.
Mrs. Wong is survived by four sons, Ky L. Wong and William L. Wong, both of San Rafael, Sui L. Wong of Richmond and Fong L. Wong of Vallejo; five daughters, Won M. Chin of Novato; Mei Yung Louie of Novato; Tui Chan of San Francisco; Mae Lacourse of Mill Valley and Mary L. Lopes of Novato; 27 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Green Street Mortuary.
Burial will be at the Ning Yung Cemetery in Colma.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rafael Van Fund and sent to the Rafael Convalescent Hospital, 234 North San Pedro Road, San Rafael.
