A 22-year-old Strawberry Point man was found dead today on a pedestrian overpass of Highway 101 near Alto Hill,
apparently dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to the Marin County Coroner's Office, John Milo O'Neill Jr. of 256 Ricardo Road was found at 1:30 a.m. by a 19-year-old Mill Valley youth. A .22-caliber rifle with which he apparently shot himself in the forehead was found resting
on his leg, Deputy Coroner Bill J. Thomas said.
John was the son of John M. O'Neill Sr. of the Strawberry Point address and the step-son of Margaret T. O'Neill.
He is also survived by a brother, Thomas O'Neill and a sister, Frances McGuire.
He was a native of Marin County.
Private family funeral was to be held today at Keaton's Mortuary in San Rafael with burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Private family funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 21, 1971 at Keaton's Mortuary, 1022 E Street, San Rafael. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery.
