County Farm Employee Dies At Mill Valley

Manuel R. Homen, 52-year-old resident of Mill Valley for the past 40 years, died suddenly yesterday at his home at 38 Catalpa avenue. He was born in the Azores Islands.

According to Marin deputy coroner Alex Macias, Homen suffered a heart attack. He had been employed at the Marin County Farm in Lucas Valley.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Rose Homen of the family home in Mill Valley, two sons, Manuel R. Homen Jr. of Fairfax, Alfred Homen of San Rafael, a daughter, Mrs. Gloria Dallara of San Rafael, a stepson, James Hall of Mill Valley, and four grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister and two brothers in the Azores Islands.

Homen was a member of IDESST of Sausalito, Our Lady of Fatima of Sausalito, and Flor De Mill Valley, No. 116, UPPEC.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the Memorial Chapels of Russell & Gooch in Mill Valley. Burial will be private.
