Wilfred V. "Will" Lafranchi

Died peacefully, Sunday morning, February 10, 2002, surrounded by his loving family. Coming from a pioneer Marin County family being the fourth generation Swiss-Italian ranching family, he is survived by his loving wife Mary Elizabeth Lafranchi of Nicasio, California. Loving father of Randy Lafranchi and his dear friend Lynette of Nicasio, California, Rick Lafranchi and his wife Debby of San Anselmo, CA, Jan Reilly and her husband Kevin of San Francisco, CA, Scott Lafranchi and his wife Karen of Mill Valley, CA, Diane Deterding and her husband Pete of Carmichael, CA and Kimberly Suida and her husband Joe of Tucson, Arizona. Loving grandfather of Terra, Alanna, Christie, Scott, Rick, Ricco, Jake, Natalie, Luke, Sam, Joey and Kendall. Loving brother of Estelle Moretti of Petaluma, CA, Edward Lafranchi of Livermore, CA, Arthur L. Lafranchi of Santa Rosa, CA, and the late Henry Lafranchi. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a native of Nicasio, California and passed away at the age of 78 years.

A Member of: Over 50 year member of the Native Sons of the Golden West, Nicasio Parlor, over 50 year member of the Nicasio Druids, a founding board member of the Marin Agricultural Land Trust, the Italian Catholic Federation of Cotati, Calif., Marin County Farm Bureau, past member of the Marin County Grand Jury, a 34 year member and past president of the Nicasio School Board, and was selected the Marin County School Board Trustee of the Year 1995.

Friends and family are invited to meet, Thursday, February 14, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty Street, Petaluma, Calif., where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. A Vigil Service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Magnolia Ave. & Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. Friends may call at the Mortuary beginning today (Tuesday) from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 8:30 AM until 12:30 PM and then again after 4:00 PM.

Those who prefer may contribute to St. Mary's Church Preservation Fund, P.O. Box 501, Nicasio, CA 94946 in memory of Will Lafranchi.

Interment: Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 304 Magnolia Avenue, Petaluma, CA.
