SAMUEL VAN LIEW
A funeral for Samuel Van Liew of Fairfax, a self-employed carpenter, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
Mr. Van Liew died Wednesday in a car accident in the San Geronimo Valley. He was 33.
His wife, Kathryn Van Liew of Novato, described her husband as a "loving father and hard worker." He liked to go boating, fishing and water skiing, she said.
Mr. Van Liew was born in San Francisco, raised in Mill Valley and attended Tamalpais High School.
Besides his wife, survivors are a son, Blake Van Liew of Novato; his father, Samuel Van Liew II of Klamath Falls, Ore.; and two brothers, John Van Liew and Jay Van Liew, both of Mill Valley.
The California Death Index adds information: Samuel Charles Van Liew was born June 9, 1955; his mother's maiden name was Held.
