Walter Carl Voigt
Born April 13, 1918 on the family farm four miles south of Ceres, California. Passed away peacefully on November 28, 2002 in Greenbrae, California. Walt was a descendant of a pioneer California family and served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. Walt and his wife Virginia moved to Marin County from San Francisco in 1950 and raised their family in Corte Madera. He was a Past Master of Mission Lodge #169 F&AM, San Francisco and was also the owner of Johnson Hardware in downtown San Rafael for many years. Walt is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia, son Alan R. Voigt, Alan's companion Cecilia Zamora, daughter Micelle V. and son-in-law Robert G. Kafka. Walt also leaves two grandchildren Jessica L. and Lucas R. Kafka, a sister Lucille V. Blauert, a sister-in-law, Patricia J. Seaman, and numerous nieces and nephews. Honoring his wishes, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to The Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817.
