Passed away peacefully at her home after a brief illness on February 13, 2002. Born in Coquille, Oregon and raised in Coos Bay, she attended the University of Oregon and moved to the Bay Area in 1948. While working as a cost accountant in a San Francisco shipyard, she met and married Harold Morgan and started their family. They moved to Marin County in 1949. She was an integral part in the founding and development of Morgan Equipment Company and traveled the world extensively with her husband on business. While raising her three children, MaryJo, Chris and Anne, she was an active volunteer at Juvenile Hall, Sunny Hills, Marin Charitable, Marin General Hospital and many local schools.
She reveled in the accomplishments of her three children and eight grandchildren and shared their stories with her many loyal friends. Until the end, JoAnn maintained strong ties to Coos Bay, Oregon. She was greatly admired for her humor, compassion and friendship.
She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Harold Morgan.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marin.
