46-Year Resident Of Mill Valley Dies
Carl E. Nauert, Mill Valley resident for the past 46 years and member of a pioneer Petaluma family, died Saturday in a San Francisco hospital after a long illness. He was born in Petaluma 61 years ago.
Since 1910, Thomas (sic), a veteran of World War I and a retired rigger for the Naval Net Depot at Tiburon, made his home at 8 Thomas drive, Mill Valley, with his wife, Mrs. Leona E. Nauert, who survives him.
He is also survived by two daughters, Miss Wilma V. Nauert and Mrs. Alice L. Huff, four sisters, Mrs. Hattie Soldate, Mrs. Dorothy Hayes, Mrs. Edna Hill, Mrs. Verna J. Strittmatter, three brothers, William F., Allen P., and Mervin W. Nauert, and two grandchildren, Robert C. and Virginia Lee Huff.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Memorial Chapels of Russell and Gooch, Mill Valley, followed by burial in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
A Death Notice in the same paper mentions that he was a member of American Legion Post No. 284 of Mill Valley.
The California Death Index adds information: Mr. Nauert was born in California August 7, 1894; motherís maiden name was Paul.
