Margaret Clark Cross
Margaret (Peggy) Cross, age 53, died at home on Wednesday night, February 13, 2002. During her 16 month battle with a brain tumor she received pleasure and peace being outdoors and being with family and friends. One friend dedicated his recent book "To Peggy who loves rocks, water and the evening light on the ridge." Peggy truly enjoyed her life, especially its simple pleasures; her family, any walk, scuba diving, her sand collection, the Farmer's Market, creating something original -- especially a gift for someone she cared about. Her quiet kindness to close friends and family will be remembered as will her delightfully quirky sense of humor. Peggy grew up in Minnesota, graduating from high school there in 1966 and from the University of Denver in 1970. She then moved to San Luis Obispo, where she met her future husband, Stephen Cross, a student at Cal Poly, whom she married in 1973. They worked together at their printing business, Colorbar, in San Francisco. She is survived by husband Stephen, daughter Stephanie, son Andrew, of San Rafael, parents Robert and Dona Clark, sisters Anne Collins and Alice Cooney, brothers James and Rob Clark, and a large extended family, of Minnesota, Wisconsin and California. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at 3:00 PM, Community Congregational Church, 145 Rock Hill Drive, Tiburon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity or Hospice of Marin.
