Funeral was yesterday for Batia Segerman, a longtime Petaluma resident who died Saturday after a long illness. She was 80.
Mrs. Segerman, of 17 Hontar Road, was a native of what is now Israel. She came to the United States in 1921, settling in New York City. She and her late husband, Haiam, came to Southern Sonoma and began poultry farming.
She was a member of the Petaluma Hadassah.
Mrs. Segerman is survived by two daughters, Ethel Forman of Petaluma and Terry Goldstein of New York City; a son, Jack Segerman of Petaluma; four brothers, Yitzhak Emanuel, Jacob and Benjwa Segerman of Israel, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Burial was in B’nai Israel Cemetery, Petaluma. The family prefers memorial gifts to favorite charities.
