A private funeral service has been held for Ernest Vedovi of Greenbrae, owner of a real estate and insurance firm in San Francisco.
Vedove, 58, died Sunday at a local hospital after a long illness.
A native of San Francisco, he was owner for 40 years of E. Vedovi and Co. His father opened the firm in 1910.
He had lived in San Francisco until moving to Greenbrae in 1974.
He married his wife, Joan Vedovi of Greenbrae, in San Francisco in 1942.
He was a member of the San Francisco Real Estate Board.
Besides his wife, Vedovi is survived by four daughters, Joan M. Vedovi of Berkeley, Nancy Vedovi of Corte Madera, P. Onorina Vedovi of San Anselmo and Mary Vedovi of Greenbrae; two sons, Ernest David Vedovi of New York and Robert W. Vedovi of Venezuela; his mother, Onorina Vedovi of San Anselmo; two sisters, Beatrice Streitenberger of Carson City, Nev., and Eda Lee of Kentfield; and two grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
