Missing Man Found by Boys
The body of MAX AST, Ross resident, who had been missing since August 22, was found lying face downward on a hill so steep as to be almost inaccessible, back of the home of George U. Hind, near the Marin Golf and Country Club. Two San Rafael boys, Joseph Icaza and David Shields found the body when they were returning from a hike to Black Canyon.
AST, on August 22, had started out for a little jaunt and carried his camera along to get some good views. The position of the body gave mute testimony of a sudden heart attack by which AST was stricken as he was climbing to the top of the hill from which he would have had a far reaching view of the surrounding country. His camera and tripod were lying several feet from where he fell.
Private funeral services were held Wednesday morning, September 4.
