Funeral Rites Held
Funeral services were held on Monday at the Parlors of Keaton and Dusel for WALTER NIVEN, who died on Friday as a result of injuries received in a boiler explosion. The services were private and were attended by only the family and a few immediate friends.
Many beautiful floral pieces were sent bearing testimony to the high regard in which the deceased was held by all who knew him.
His demise came after an amputation operation had been performed. Accoring to the Ross Hospital authorities, infection from the scalds sustained in the accident had reached the blood stream and heart with fatal results.
The Rev. Ernest Bradley, a rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiated at the service, and George L. Kendall, a past master of the Marin Lodge of Masons, also spoke briefly.
NIVEN is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James NIVEN, a bRother George, and 2 sisters; Mrs. Roy HODGE of Mill Valley, and Mrs. Larry BARTON of Angel's Camp. He graduated from the Tamalpais High School, and since then has been associated with his father and brother in the nursery business.
