JOHN W. SANDIFORTH
Funeral was held this morning at Keatonís Chapel of Marin for John W. Sandiforth who died Sunday at Kaiser Hospital following a brief illness. He was 84.
A native of Colorado, Sandiforth served with the Army in France during World War I and then settled in California.
He lived in Castro Valley and Oakland before moving to Novato six years ago.
He made his home with his son, Ray Sandiforth, at 241 Michelle Circle.
Before his retirement he was an engineman at the Alameda Naval Air Station.
Sandiforth was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the American Legion.
His wife, Selma, predeceased him.
Besides his son, Ray, he is survived by another son, James Norman of San Lorenzo; two brothers, Earl Sandiforth of Pasadena and Paul Sandiforth of Glendale; a sister, Ruth Paulidas, of Altadena in Los Angeles County; and a granddaughter, Jill Sandiforth.
Burial was at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Fremont.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the First Church of God, 17 Keller Street, Petaluma.
