PEARL RAVENSCROFT

A funeral for Pearl Foster Ravenscroft, a retired Petaluma teacher, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Parent Funeral Chapel, Petaluma.

Mrs. Ravenscroft died Saturday at her home after a lengthy illness. She was 74.

A native of Klameth Falls, Ore., she moved to Petaluma as a youngster and attended local schools. Mrs. Ravenscroft was a graduate of San Jose State University where she received her teaching credential.

After graduation, she returned to teach in both the Petaluma and Roblar School Districts. After raising her family, Mrs. Ravenscroft returned to teaching as a substitute.

She was married in 1933 to Henry A. Ravenscroft. He is retired as an instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College.

She is also survived by two daughters, Henrietta Ravenscroft Slater of Fresno and Juliett Ravenscroft Ellery of El Cajon; a son, Dewey Simpson Ravenscroft of Hayward; three sisters, Florence McLane of Chico, Blanche Brannan of Klamath Falls, Ore. and Harriete Nees of Stockton; and three grandchildren.

Burial will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 972, Petaluma 94962.
