Manual Machado, Sausalito Native, Succumbs At 70

Manual Machado, born 70 years ago in Sausalito and a resident there all his life, died Wednesday at his home after a short illness. He lived at 115 West street.

He was a retired teamster for the Sausalito Express Co. A brother, Frank Machado, is a captain in Marin County Fire Department, and is in charge of the Marin City substation.

Two sons who survive him are Earl J. Machado, a roofing contractor, and William H. Machado, a teamster. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Belle Machado.

Others surviving him are five sisters, Mrs. Rita Chase, Mrs. Leoha Nettro, Mrs. Lucy Bottini, Mrs. Margaret Schaffer and Mrs. Ethel Leach, and two brothers, John and Joseph Machado, all of Marin. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday from the Frank J. Keaton Mortuary in Sausalito, followed by a Requiem Mass at 9:30 a.m. at t he Star of the Sea Church. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Keaton Chapel.

MACHADO - In Sausalito, Feb. 2, 1955, Manual Machado, husband of the late Belle Machado, father of William H. and Earl James Machado, brother of Mrs. Rita Chase and Mrs. Leoha Nettro, Mrs. Lucy Bottini, Mrs. Margaret Schaffer, Mrs. Ethel Leach, John, Joseph and Frank Machado, grandfather of Ronald M., William P., Dolores, Stephen E., Donald C. and Daniel E. Machado. A native of Sausalito, aged 70 years. A member of Foresters of America, Sausalito.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral Monday, Feb. 7, 1955 at 9:15 a.m. from the Frank J. Keaton Mortuary, Sausalito, thence to the Star of the Sea Church, Sausalito, where a Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul at 9:30 a.m. Interment Fernwood Cemetery. Rosary services will be recited at 8 p.m. at the Keaton Chapel Sunday, Feb. 6, 1955.
