McClure, 66, Point Reyes, Succumbs
John McClure, 66, of Point Reyes, one of seven children of the late James and Margaret McClure, pioneers of West Marin, died today after a week’s illness in a San Francisco hospital.
He was born at Point Reyes and had lived there all his life. His family owned dairyland at the northern end of the Point Reyes peninsula, including McClure’s Beach, now a county park.
McClure is survived by his wife, Dorothy McClure, Point Reyes; three brothers, William McClure, Corte Madera, and James McClure and David McClure of Point Reyes; and three sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Kilpatrick, Petaluma, and Mrs. Elizabeth Small and Mrs. John A. Driscoll of San Francisco.
Funeral service is set Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Parent Funeral Chapel, 216 Washington Street, Petaluma. Burial will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
