Robert “Locke” Lauchenauer of San Anselmo, a lifelong Marin resident and retired co-owner of Lock Bros. Garage, died Friday after a brief illness at his home. He was 68.
Lauchenauer was born in San Rafael and lived in Marin all his life.
He operated the Locke Bros. Garage in San Rafael with his brother, Emil “Mickey” Lauchenauer, since 1953. He retired a few years ago.
He was a member of the San Rafael Lodge No. 1108 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Loch Lomond Yacht Club.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie Lauchenauer; two sons, Bruce Sharrow of Novato and Barry Sharrow; his brother, Emil “Mickey” Lauchenauer; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Keaton’s Moturayr in San Rafael. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
