Paul DeTomasi of Belvedere, a Marin resident for 58 years, died Friday at a local convalescent hospital after a long illness. He was 88.
DeTomasi was born in Italy and moved to t his country and Marin about 1922. He was self-employed as a gardener for about 30 years. He also spent 15 years working for the Northwest Pacific Railroad.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline DeTomasi; a son, Aldo DeTomasi of Tiburon; four sisters, Josephine Testa of San Rafael, Rose Testa of Petaluma, one sister in Italy and one sister in South Africa; and seven grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Hilary’s Catholic Church in Tiburon. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.
The rosary will be recited Monday at 8 p.m. at the Russell and Gooch mortuary in Mill Valley. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Monday.
