Joseph Tait of Greenbrae, a retired San Francisco printer, died Wednesday at a local convalescent hospital. He was 92.
Tait was born in California and lived much of his life in San Francisco. He moved to a Marin convalescent hospital recently. He was a printer for 30 years with the James H. Barry Co. and belonged to the Typographical Union Local 21.
He also belonged to the San Francisco and American rose societies.
He is survived by a son, William J. Tait of Novato; a brother, George P. Tait; a sister, Anna T. Tait; four (sic) grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Paulís Catholic Church in San Francisco at 9 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
The rosary will be recited today at 4 p.m. at the Arthur J. Sullivan and Co. Mortuary in San Francisco.

A Death Notice in the same paper mentions his late wife, Ella Tait and his daughter-in-law Mary Alice Tait; he was the grandfather of David, Robert, Ann Marie, William Jr. and John Tait, and great-grandfather of Sarah and Adam Tait. He was the brother of the George P. and Anna R. (sic) Tait, and the late Herbert W. and Ada M. Tait. He was the brother-in-law of Bessie McDermott.
