A Mass of Christian Burial for Marian Metcalfe, one of Petaluma’s oldest natives at age 101, was celebrated today at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Petaluma.
Mrs. Metcalfe died Monday at a local convalescent hospital. She was born in Petaluma on her family’s ranch on Skillman Lane.
She moved to San Francisco as a youngster and returned to Petaluma in 1965. Mrs. Metcalfe and her late husband, George, had traveled extensively marketing movie equipment. She was also known as an avid reader, historian, and seamstress.
She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Alice Boyer and Aileen Ball, as well as nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Entombment was at Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma.
