MINNA F. THRAN Dies At 56
Minna Frieda Thran, 56, who with her husband, William, ran the Old Mill Market in Mill Valley for 16 years, died in hr sleep at home last night. She had been under a doctorís care and the Marin County Coronerís office attributed death to natural causes.
The Thrans bought the market at Old Mill Street and Throckmorton Avenue in 1950 when they arrived from Bremen, Germany, with their seven children. They retired two years ago. The market was better known as Billís to neighborhood residents and schoolchildren at nearby Old Mill School. The family lives in a house at 8 Old Mill Street adjoining the store.
Mrs. Thran is survived by her husband; seven children, Joan Bankson, Carolyn Thran, Robert Thran and Dennis Thran, all of Mill Valley, Barbara Hurley of Redwood City, Henry Thran of Oregon and William Thran of Petaluma, and five grandchildren.
Funeral and autopsy are pending at Russell and Gooch funeral chapel, Mill Valley.
