AGNES MILLER Dies At 77
Agnes Caroline Miller, 77, of San Anselmo, died yesterday at a local hospital after being found unconscious Tuesday at her home by a daughter.
Asst. Coroner Eugene R. Fontaine attributed death to apparent natural causes.
Mrs. Miller, of 14 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, was a native of Braddock, Pa. She had lived in California for 50 years, the last 25 in Marin.
She was active in the First Presbyterian Church of San Anselmo, the Tamalpais Women’s Club and the Order of Eastern Star, Fairfax. She was a former secretary of the California Federation of Music and was a published composer, poet, and short story writer.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Doris E. Gurley of Kentfield and Mrs. Verna M. Fairchild of San Anselmo; a sister, Mrs. Frank Preston of Santa Rosa; three brothers, Charles Oppel of Turlatin, Ore., George Oppel of LaPorte, Tex., and Virgil Oppel of Riverside, Riverside county; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Private family funeral will be tomorrow. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery. Memorial services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, San Anselmo. The family asks contributions to the church.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds information; she was the wife of the late Claude C. Miller, and grandmother of Mrs. Judy Arbini, Mrs. Linda McGaughey, Lisa and Michael Gurley, Janice, Nancy and Christie Fairchild. She was the great-grandmother of Tracy, Michael Arbini and Deborah McGaughey.
