Paid Death Notices
MORSTADT, FRANK CARL and MARZETTA EauCLAIRE - Marzetta was born in Mason City, Iowa; she died in San Rafael on March 12, 1998 at age 86. Frank was born in Chicago, Ill. and died in San Rafael on August 25, 1999, at the age of 89. They were married 66 years.
Frank operated with his father, Arthur Morstadt, Lemke's Grocery on River Street in Janesville, Wisconsin. It was originated by his uncle, George Lemke at the turn of the century, then owned by his parents, Arthur and Clara, until the 1940's. Frank's custom butcher shop was added to the market in the 30's.
Frank and Marzetta operated their dairy farm on Oakhill Road for 30 years. After retiring from Fisher Body Division, GMC where he worked in the Inspection Department, Frank built their dream home on the banks of the Mississippi River in Wabasha, Minn. The last 18 years were spent in San Rafael, living at Rotary Manor and later at Rafael Convalescent Hospital.
They are survived by their daughters and sons-in-law, Carolee and Lesly H. Meyer in Petaluma, Calif. and Frances and John O'Halloran in Morwell, MA.; their grandchildren, Erik Carl Jendnesen, John O'Halloran, Matthew Carl O'Halloran, Christine DiModica and Timothy O'Halloran, their great grandchildren, Savannah, Christian, Erin, Bradley, Corrine and Caroline; sisters and brother, Marian Morstadt Erickson, Rose EauClaire Boyd and Walter EauClaire and many nieces and nephews.
A family memorial service with interment in the family plot at Oakhill Cemetery, Janesville, Wis., will be held on June 13, 2000. Arrangements by Overton Funeral Home.
