Brenn Joel Morgan, July 21, 1915 ~ November 3, 2002
Joel was one of nine children born to Solomon Fried and Pauline Newman Fried in Brooklyn, NY. Joel worked as a Supervisor in the U.S. Postal Service in Buffalo, NY for 35 years before retiring to Northern California with his wife, Evelyn Farber Morgan in 1970. He received numerous awards for distinguished service and instruction in the USPS and was recognized for his relentless and successful efforts in the service of racial equity, fairness, and integration at the Buffalo Post Office. Joel loved chess, history, and language with an unmatched passion. He was strong in his convictions and was known for tireless debates on philosophy and politics. He is survived by his siblings Manny and Gerald, sons Robert and Nelson, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. His wife, Evelyn Morgan, passed away in March of this year.
