Petaluma Dairyman J. Tarchini
Requiem mass for John Batista Tarchini, 79, a retired Petaluma dairyman, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Petaluma. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Tarchini died Sunday in a Santa Rosa Hospital after a long illness. A native of Italy, he came to the United States in 1905, first settling in Point Arena where he was employed in the dairy business.
He moved to Petaluma in 1921 and operated a dairy ranch on Western Avenue until his retirement in 1957 when he moved to 537 Upham Street. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Petaluma Aerie 333.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia; two daughters, Florence Tarchini of Petaluma and Anita Barri of Santa Rosa; a son, E. John Tarchini of Petaluma, and three grandchildren.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 p.m. today at the Sorensen Funeral Home, Petaluma. Contributions may be made to any charity.
