Willard C. Cannaday
Private family services were held Wednesday for Willard C. Cannaday of Novato.
Mr. Cannaday died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1987, at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Rafael following a short illness. He was 70.
Mr. Cannaday was a native of Richmond, Va.
He was a retired Navy officer and had served aboard the San Francisco in Pearl Harbor during World War II. Mr. Cannaday received the Silver Star award.
After the war, he worked for many years at Firemanís Fund in Novato.
He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Club, the U.S.S. San Francisco Association, the American Legion Post 41, and the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 34.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Cannaday of Novato; his son, Ronald Cannaday of Novato; and his mother, Tressie Williamson of Hopewell, Va.
Inurnment will be at San Francisco National Cemetery in the Presidio of San Francisco
