Funeral has been held for Esther Lapkin of San Francisco, mother of Nadyne Dinsmore of Lucas Valley and Maxwell Lapkin of Sausalito.
Mrs. Lapkin, 78, died Saturday in San Francisco after a long illness.
She was a native of Jackson, Amador County, and had lived in San Francisco for 72 years. Her late husband, Joseph Lapkin, owned a wholesale distributorship for electronics products.
Mrs. Lapkin was a volunteer for many years at Mount Zion Hospital and before that served as a Red Cross volunteer. She was assistant treasurer and a board member of the Jewish Home for the Aged and past president of the Jewish Home for the Aged Auxiliary. Additionally, she was a past president of the Auxiliary of the Denver Home for Asthmatic Children in Colorado.
In addition to her son and daughter, Mrs. Lapkin is survived by a sister and brother, Bessie Goldstrom and attorney Samuel Ladar, both of San Francisco, and two grandchildren.
Inurnment was in Portals of Eternity.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the Jewish Home for the Aged, 302 Silver Avenue, San Francisco.
