Death of Miss Myrtle Randall
The people of Kentfield and vicinity were greatly shocked and grieved this week to learn of the death of Miss Myrtle Randall, who passed away in the Yerba Buena hospital, San Francisco at four o’clock on Sunday morning, July 7th.
This lovely girl came out from Philadelphia to Kentfield last fall, for rest and recreation, and during her brief sojourn in the county, she had endeared herself to all with whom she became acquainted.
She was a professional singer, of exceptional talent, but for all the praise and admiration that she encountered from every quarter, she was as unspoiled as the least accomplished maid in the land.
She generously responded to every request to contribute a song or more to local entertainments, and her sweet, sympathetic voice and fascinating personality warranted a satisfactory program.
About two weeks ago, she made an engagement to sing in a circuit from San Francisco to Philadelphia, and told her friends of the joy she anticipated in meeting her father again and visiting a recently married sister.
Ten days before she closed her soft dusk eyes forever, she was scintillating with the interests of life, blithe and confident in the future.
Some occult trouble developed, and last Friday she went to a hospital in San Francisco and submitted to an operation; within twenty hours her pure soul had returned to the God who gave it.
Her friends in Marin grieve for her as for a sister, finding solace in the hope that her bright smile will greet them and her sweet voice enthrall yet again in the land that lies beyond the mist.
