A funeral for Leroy Washington, a Mill Valley resident, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Marin City.
Mr. Washington died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1986, at Marin General Hospital after a short illness. He was 69.
He moved to Marin in 1950 from his native Louisiana, first living in Marin City. He retired in 1977 after working 25 years as a laborer. He last worked for Laborers International Union Local 291.
He was a member of the Sons of Marin Masonic Lodge in Mill Valley and a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by three sons, Robert L. Washington of Oakland, Jessie Michael Washington of Corte Madera and Billy Ray Washington of Novato; a daughter, Samantha Marie Washington of San Rafael; three brothers, Millard Washington of Oakland, Alvin and Toliver Washington, both of Louisiana; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday at the Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
