LYONS, Jean May, 84, of San Rafael, passed away October 28, 2002. Sunset View Cemetery, (510)-525-5111.
Jean May Lyons
Born in 1917, died on October 28, 2002. Jean began painting in her early years, and then turned passionately to teaching for over three decades, mainly at Bel Aire School. She gave her time to children's literacy into her last years. Jean's love of the written word blossomed in her 70s and 80s into her own poems and stories of human loneliness and gentle irony contained in a humorous faith in life. For Jean, all religions sprang from the same Divine Source, and the B'Hai Community was her spiritual home. She is survived by her husband, of sixty one years, Robert E. Lyons. Jean will be remembered with love by her daughters, Victoria Gordon, and Anna Lyons-Roost of Eugene, her six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many dear family and friends. Donations in her name can be made to the Marin Public Library.
