The ashes of Walter Phillip Kolon, 72, retired building maintenance company owner of Fairfax, will be sent to Russia to be place at his motherís grave.
Kolon died Sunday at his home at 33 Cascade Drive, after a long illness.
He was born in Harbin, Manchuria, and lived there until he was 18 when he went to Berlin, Germany, to college. He came to this country in 1929, living at first in San Francisco. He moved to Fairfax in 1944. Kolon owned the Universal Building Maintenance Co. of Marin County until he retired 11 years ago.
Kolon is survived by his wife Valentina V. Kolon of the family home at 33 Cascade Drive, Fairfax; two sons, Lt. Col. (ret.) Walter V. Kolon of Kensington, Md., and Victor V. Kolon of Forest Knolls and six grandchildren.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society would be preferred by the family.
