Keith Lanning, a Marin County resident for the last 47 years died May 15th, 2002 after a short illness at the age of 76. Following graduation from the University of California at Berkeley, he and his wife Donna moved to San Rafael in 1955. Much of his business life was centered in San Francisco, first in the advertising community and later as an executive of the California Redwood Association. He retired from the CRA in 1990 after having served as President and General Manager for more than 20 years. Keith was born in Dunsmuir, California in 1925 and served with the United States Coast Guard in WWII. Throughout his career, he remained active in the San Francisco business community and represented the advertising community as a Board member for the San Francisco Better Business Bureau. Keith was also an active member of the Bohemian Club located in San Francisco. Keith is survived by his three children, Lesley Lanning of Sonoma, California, Matthew Lanning of San Rafael, California and Martin Lanning of San Diego, California. He leaves three sisters, Bernos Hutchinson of Laguna Niguel, California, Bonnie McCarty of Seattle, Washington and Jacquiline Wiles, of Sacramento, California. Private Funeral Services will be held on June 8th, 2002 at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery where Keith will be buried with Donna, his wife of 52 years who died in June 1999. The family prefers contributions be made to a favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
