Barbara J. Horgan
Retired claims supervisor
Barbara J. Horgan of Novato died at home Saturday, Nov. 4, 1988 (sic) after a lengthy illness. She was 68.
Mrs. Horgan was born in San Francisco and lived there most of her life, moving to Novato 6 1/2 years ago.
For 17 years, she had worked as a claims supervisor for Allstate Insurance Co. in Daly City. She retired in 1983.
Survivors are her husband, Donald E. Horgan; a son, Gary Horgan of Van Nuys; two daughters, Donna Kearney of Terra Linda and Janice Donovan of San Francisco; a sister, Lorraine Duddy of San Francisco; a brother, James Mangen of San Jose; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthonyís Church in Novato. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Novato.
Her family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Marin.
Arrangements are by Keatonís Redwood Chapel of Marin in Novato.
A Paid Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was predeceased by a brother, John Mangen. Survived by grandchildren Kimberly and Stacie Kearney and Patrick Donovan. She was the mother-in-law of Kevin Kearney, Dan Donovan and Mary Sue Horgen.
