: : I'm a Manning and would like to meet people with knowledge about Manning's Inc. My grandfather was W.W. Manning who started Manning's with his brother, Edward, in 1908 in Seattle. The headquarters was moved to San Francisco in the '20s and I remember visiting the coffee factory and the restaurant on Market St. as a child. Today, I have the honor of being the custodian of a portion of the family archives and am constantly on the lookout for more info., and old photos, about Manning's. If anyone out there has good sources, is a Manning descendant, or can steer me toward solid resourses regarding the family history as it pertains the business, please feel free to e-mail me. I look forward to hearing more about my grand-dad and my uncle and thier adventure into big business as it was a century ago. Thx, CJ.

Celia, My grandfather was Edward Manning, brother of William Manning. Look at my post from 2006. Where do you live, because the San Francisco Library has pictures in their archives, as does Seattle. I've gotten some pics of the cafeterias from them. Feel free to email me if I can help out some more.
