My great grandfather Oliver H Harrison owned and operated The Carquinez Brick and Tile Company in Eckly from 1907-1914. They made bricks to rebuild SF after the earthquake. I know they sold 4 million bricks to rebuild the Palace Hotel and the Kensington apartments but I have yet to find information about it from the SF History section at the library. In many of the SF directories, the company and OH Harrison is listed as having 12 offices on the top floor of the Russ building on Montgomery between Pine and Bush. The Russ building is currently on Montgomery between Pine and Bush but it was not built until 1927. I have been there and looked at the history and no-one knows about a previous Russ Building. There is also a reference to 149 California Street as being the "former Russ building" but there is currently know such address. I am looking for any history on the original Russ Building before the 1927 building which is currently there on Montgomery between Pine and Bush.
