I would love to have dinner with my great-great grandfather Maurice Doyle who was born in Ireland, left in 1841 with his parents and siblings, spent 11 years in Australia and then on to SF in 1852. He died in 1895. I'd love to ask him why the family left Ireland since it was before the famine; I want to know about the siblings that I have been unable to trace once arriving in SF, about his four little children that died (I can only find 3 in the SF call) and how the Sheehan is related that is buried in the same plot as he and his wife Bridgid.
I'd like that dinner to be at a good Irish pub. I'd like to hear some good Celtic music and find out if this was how Valentine's Day was celebrated back his youth. It would take more than one dinner to ask all the questions I need answers to!
