: Inez Jones, a velvet throated jazz singer at a bar (The Rainbow?) in the Haight-Ashbury district in the 196Os. She could sing anything, and had the most beautiful voice since, and maybe including, Ella Fitzgerald.
Actually, the club was the New Rainbow Club on Union at Fillmore; I think tha's Cow Hollow. I went to SF State in the 60s and taking a date to hear Inez was a real treat. After the New Rainbow she moved on to the Fairmont. Lost track of her after that, but will always remember her "naughty" songs.
