In commemoration of the fact that the first church built in Ross was located on a parcel of land owned by the Kittle estate, this parcel has been deeded to the town of Ross by Allen I. Kittle and Mrs. Lucia Sherman with the understanding that the property is to be held as a public park. It is also stipulated in the deed that a large eucalyptus tree on the property be preserved.
