David Charles Coyle
Passed away on July 29, 2002 at the age of 61 years. He was born and raised in the Dos Palos area. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1962 through 1966 as an electronic technician aboard the U.S.C.G. Cutter TANEY. His home was in Novato for the past 31 years. For almost 30 years he worked as a Customer Service Engineer for IBM in San Francisco before retiring in 1996. Dave was a skilled craftsman and particularly enjoyed woodworking. He gained a passion for fly fishing and camping from his dad and actively enjoyed these pastimes for many years. He especially loved Wawona and eventually purchased a cabin there. He was an avid reader, an expert at crossword puzzles, and a self-taught guitarist. He received pleasure maintaining "Duke," his 1967 Ford Galaxy. Dave was preceded in death by his sister Virginia Hollister. He is survived and loved by Carol, his wife of 38 years, son David S. Coyle, daughter Kim Heuvelhorst, son-in-law Mark Heuvelhorst, grandchildren Kaitlin and Andrew Heuvelhorst, brother Ken Coyle, sisters Erin Doerges and Jane Pelton, and mother-in-law Camille Shannon. Burial will take place at Oakhill Cemetery, 40188 Highway 41, Oakhurst, CA at 10:00 AM on August 3, 2002. The Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to "Friends of the Bassett Memorial Library at Wawona,", P.O. Box 2008, Wawona, CA 95389; or Novato Human Needs Center, 1907 Novato Blvd., Novato, CA 94947.
