Michael T. Boss
Michael Boss, of San Francisco, passed away on August 26, 2002 after a very strong, courageous battle with colon cancer. Michael was born in San Francisco on September 16, 1946. He grew up in San Rafael, attending St. Raphael's grade school and graduating from Marin Catholic High School. He loved learning and literature, which he continued to pursue with passion at U.C. Berkeley, graduating in 1968. Michael was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity. At the time of his graduation, he was commissioned in the U.S. Navy. Having completed three years of active duty, he eagerly renewed his studies and focused on his passion and skills as a writer. He received his Masters in Journalism degree from Berkeley in 1974. Throughout his life he remained true to his desire to embrace learning, literature, writing and music. He was employed by the Pietro Group in San Francisco. He leaves behind his proudest, greatest achievement, his daughter, Jennifer Boss, who will miss his insight, wit, friendship and love. He is also survived by his mother Marie Cerles Boss, his sister Judy (Richard) Del Tredici, sister Monica (Bruce) Sauer and his brother Joe Boss. His father, Lou Boss, preceded him in death. He is also survived by his good friend and former wife, Erica (Rickie) Igoe, many nieces, nephews and many very caring good friends. A Service celebrating his love of life will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. at Keaton's Mortuary, 1022 "E" Street, San Rafael, California 94901, 415-453-0571. Inurnment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity or to the Colon Cancer Alliance, Inc., 175 9th Avenue, New York, NY 10011 are preferred.
