Dorothy Luella Carroll, 53, a Petaluma resident since 1942, died yesterday at a local hospital following a long illness.
A native of South Dakota, Mrs. Carroll moved to Petaluma 29 years ago. She and her husband, James C. Carroll, lived at 391 Corona Road.
Mrs. Carroll had been employed by the Hotel Petaluma and Casa Grande motel until retiring 15 years ago.
She also is survived by two daughters, Norma Rodriguez and Beverly Espinal of Sebastopol; six sisters, Opal Coffman, Lorrain Grant, Lois Reed and Betty Fuller, all of Petaluma, Ethel Harvey of Marysville and Fern Smith of Washington; three brothers, Arvin Thomason of Petaluma, Howard Thomason of Benecia and Donald Thomason of Iowa, and six grandchildren.
Private funeral will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Parent Funeral Chapel, Petaluma, followed by inurnment at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
