Elizabeth Cordes, 82, Dies At Fairfax
Mrs. Elizabeth Cordes, 82, matriarch of a Marin county family, mother of 13 children, grandmother of 25 and great-grandmother of 18, died at the Fairfax home of her daughter, Mrs. George A. Hall, 60 Porteous avenue, yesterday.
Among those surviving Mrs. Cordes are Clifton C. Cordes, son, who is night patrolman of the Fairfax police department, and Mrs. Miles F. Lavin, a daughter, of Spruce road, Fairfax.
Mrs. Cordes had lived at the above address since 1926, following the death of her husband, Albert F. Cordes. She had lived in Marin county 30 years.
The funeral will be held Friday at the chapel of McAvoy-O’Hara Co., San Francisco, with a requiem high mass following at St. Rita’s Church, Fairfax at 10:30 a.m.

She was the mother of Albert R., Clifton C., Urban A., Walter J. Cordes, Mrs. Lillian E. Loewe, Mrs. Angela E. Patterson, Mrs. Viola G. Lavin, Mrs. Florence A. Murphy, Mrs. Evelyn M. Hall, and the late Mrs. Ethel L. Ryan, Lloyd, Edward and Veronica Cordes; sister of Mrs. Mary Kurpinsky, Mrs. Emma A. Regentz and Joseph Booth; grandmother of Mrs. Hazel e. McCourt and Mrs. Dorothy M. Davis; a native of Boston, Mass.; member of Court St. Agnes No. 1428, C. D. A. of St. Rita’s Church, Fairfax. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery; rosary Thursday evening at 8 o’clock.
