HELEN JUNE HOWARD
Memorial services will be Saturday for Helen June Howard. She died May 5 at the Novato Community Hospital after a long illness. She was 66.
She was born in Ross and was a lifelong resident of Marin County.
She was known as “Mama Howard” for her love and support of neighbors, family and community.
She worked as a waitress for many years, serving customers at Berkeley Farms in Novato. Later she worked as a manager at Benjamino’s Deli locations in Novato and at Northgate mall.
“She loved going out to the ocean near Bodega Bay,” said her son, John Howard of Novato. “But she didn’t have a lot of time for herself because she gave so much to others.”
She is also survived by another son, Daniel E. Howard of Davis; two brothers, Harold Mooney of Palo Alto and Alfred Mooney of Gerber, Calif.; and a grandson.
Memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Loretto Church, Novato.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 1368 Lincoln Ave., San Rafael 94901.
