PAULA M. NORTON
Muir Beach resident
Paula M. Norton, a 48-year resident of Muir Beach, died Sunday, March 28, 1993, at her home. She was 77.
Mrs. Norton was born in Chicago. She attended Reed College in Portland, Ore.
In both Oregon and California she organized lectures supporting Republican Spain against Franco.
As secretary to Helen Hosmer of the Lubin Society, she helped migrant workers.
In later years, she was involved in volunteer work for the American Friends Service Committee and the California Democratic Council.
She worked for the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco and San Francisco State University.
She also worked with and typed manuscripts for Dr. Kai-Yu Shu, Kay Boyle and others.
Mrs. Norton is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Norton of Muir Beach; two daughters, Persis E. Norton of Stinson Beach and Jean E. Norton of Australia; three sons, John T. Norton of Vallejo, Joel S. Norton of Newport, Ore., and Jamie Norton of Los Angeles;12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be from 2 to 4 p.m. tomorrow at Muir Beach Community Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bookmobile, Marin County Free Library, Administration Building, Civic Center, San Rafael, 94903.
Arrangements are by Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.
