Leland M. Boyd
Leland " Lee" Boyd, 57 of San Rafael, died Wednesday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
Boyd was born in Kansas and live most of his life in California. He had lived in Marin since 1956.
Boyd was a veteran of World War II.
He started his own business, the Able Fence Co. in Petaluma in 1959.
Boyd was a member of Operating Engineers Local 3 and the International Fence Industry Association.
He is survived by his wife Frances; a son, Dan Boyd of Santa Rosa; a stepson, Ron Hancock of Rohnert Park; a brother, Fred Boyd of Kansas; a sister Minnie Bailey of Houston; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Keaton's Moruary, San Rafael. Burial will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. His family asked that memorial contributions go to the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn. or the Linus C. Pauling Institute, 2700 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park 94025.

A native of Kansas, aged 57.
