Mary A. Carter
Former longtime Point Reyes Station resident Mary A. Carter died Monday in Sonoma. She was 92.
A native of San Francisco, she lived in Marin County most of her life.
She was raised in Ignacio and attended San Rafael schools. She settled in San Rafael for a time, moved to San Francisco where she lived for 12 years, and then moved to Point Reyes Station in 1935.
She lived in Point Reyes Station until six years ago.
She was a housewife.
She was a member of the Companions of Foresters of America, Lodge 1918, and a charter member of the Olema Ladies Auxiliary.
She was the wife of the late Earl D. Carter.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Bloom of Sonoma; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Monte's Mission Chapel, 1415 Third Street in San Rafael and a Forester's memorial service will be held at the mortuary at 8 p.m. Wednesday. She will be buried in Olema Cemetery.
The family prefers that any donations be made to Hospice of Marin.
A Death Notice in the same paper adds information: she was the grandmother of Mary Lou Taverna of San Anselmo, Ardelle Valconesi of Point Reyes Station and Barbara Hall of Rohnert Park; she was the great-grandmother of Robert and Kathy Taverna of San Anselmo, Peter and Judy Valconesi of Point Reyes Station, and James Hall of Rohnert Park.
